This subject really can be the pits for a lot of folks and very embarrassing when trying work with another person who has stinky pits! I have heard a lot of conversation lately about anti-perspirant's ingredients. The one that concerns me most is aluminum and the connection that this metal has to breast cancer. Many people have decided to dispense with this product including myself! Whaaattt?? Yes, but I don't stink and my husband agrees! He better!
When I began my career in aromatherapy, I made a natural deodorant containing baking soda, corn starch, beeswax and coconut butter. Added some nice oils and it came out great! One hitch.....I itched! Talk about rashy pits! That was me. So...I made some other changes to the recipe. This still did not work.
I finally found a great solution and worked with the ratios of the ingredients and I am glad that it works! I am not a medical professional and do not feel comfortable providing any type of dilution rates of the ingredients since this particular product contains a nutrient for our body and can affect other issues such as medication you take, etc. Do you wonder what it is??? Magnesium oil, vegetable glycerin, and lotion! It does not stop the moisture but it does not cause the stink. I just get a makeup brush and put on a Kaolin clay and ground oatmeal mixture. Works very well!
As far as the magnesium mixture, I had a 2 oz. bottle and filled it up halfway with magnesium oil. I added a couple of teaspoons of vegetable glycerin, and then filled the bottle up with lotion. I used the lotion from my store, but any lotion will do. I like the nourishing hemp oil that is at the base of the Signal Hill lotion. The reason that I say this is because there is a slight sting when applying the magnesium but it goes away quickly.
I also like this method because I understand from several sources that many of us are deficient in magnesium. Again, I am not a medical professional so I will make no assumptions. However, magnesium supplementation has helped my anxiety, insomnia, and muscle cramping! Using magnesium oil to stop the stinky pits is proving to be valuable for health support in other areas!
Magnesium oil can be found on Amazon or health store. Magnesium oil is actually a mixture of magnesium bath salts (or magnesium chloride for you chemists) and water. It is oily, and therefore the reason it is called oil!
Let me know what you think! I would love to hear feedback on this idea to combat the stinky pits!!! My goal for this blog is to tickle your brain to do further research on this product for yourself. I love it!
